This is a plain-language summary of the terms for using VoiceVolley. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

The service

VoiceVolley provides live captions for in-person conversations. It is not a voice or video call service, does not perform speaker diarization, and is not intended for emergency communication.

Accounts

Hosts create an account to start conversations. Guests join with just a name, using an invitation link shared by the host — no guest account is required. You're responsible for keeping your host account credentials secure.

Free tier

Every host gets one free conversation, up to 10 minutes, with no credit card required. After that, hosts without a subscription still get 5 free minutes of captioning every day.

Subscription & "unlimited" conversations

The $10/month plan removes the one-conversation limit: subscribers can start as many separate conversations as they like. Each individual conversation is capped at 40 minutes and ends automatically at that point.

"Unlimited" describes the number of conversations, not unlimited underlying usage: to keep the service sustainable, each subscriber's account is also subject to a fair-use limit of up to 800 minutes of total captioning per calendar month — far more than typical use requires. In the rare case an account reaches that limit, captioning pauses until the next calendar month; it does not affect billing.
